STEVE BOND
Steve has spent the past 34 years working in the London Insurance and Reinsurance Market. Prior to setting up TurnStone, Steve managed the run-off of a portfolio of Non-Marine / Marine and Aviation risks for the London Managing General Agent of a major Japanese Reinsurer. Additionally, he acted as a senior manager of other run-off portfolios and has specific experience from an insurance and reinsurance claims perspective including reviews of inward and outward ultimate book exposures, assessing IBNRs and negotiating commutations.
Steve’s knowledge and lengthy experience of US Casualty business was used to assist a US based reinsurer in Dallas, Texas where he was seconded for over a year heading up a team responsible for reducing a large backlog. These accounts included Asbestos, Pollution, Health Hazard, Products and General Liability claims and helped to update their systems, procedures and improve the client’s basic knowledge of how the London Market operates.
Steve also specialises in Binding Authority/Third Party Administrator audits in the UK, US, Canada and Europe on various classes of direct and reinsurance business. These include Commercial Property and Liability, Household, Energy, General Liability, Construction Defects, Marine Hull & Cargo, Protection & Indemnity Clubs, Monoline Package, Loss of Licence, Motor, Parks and Homes, Employers Liability, Directors & Officers, Errors and Omissions, Medical Malpractice, Truck Liability, Terrorism, Jewellers Block, Accident & Health Workers’ Compensation Carve Out, Personal Accident and Legal Expenses (ATE & BTE).
In the past eight years, Steve and the team have been performing Claims and reserving updates and for year-end purposes on various insurance and reinsurance programmes for London Market leading Syndicates These were in regard to General Liability business including very large programmes of US Cedant business incorporating; Professional Indemnity, Employers Liability, Directors & Officers, Workers Compensation, Artisans Liability/Construction Defects, Medical Malpractice and Health Managed Organisation liability.
